Sector Facilitation

NOIE's broad objectives in sector facilitation are to articulate the value of participating in B2B e-commerce, and to bring together stakeholders in key economic sectors or supply chains to develop collaborative solutions. NOIE's sector facilitation work currently focuses on health, financial services, education and transport.

Overview

NOIE can bring value by facilitating e-commerce solutions for industry that are open and inclusive for all business participants. A way to facilitate these solutions is to identify critical leverage points for e-commerce uptake in sectors and then work with key businesses to build projects that have an impact on these critical points in the value chain. Health

There are considerable opportunities to apply e-commerce to the health sector in Australia. Online technologies can assist the sector to expand its reach, deepen its quality and usefulness, and improve the efficiency of delivery. NOIE is active in a variety of e-health projects.....more

Financial Services

The finance sector occupies a strategic position in the economy and in e-commerce. NOIE is actively working with banks, credit unions and other financial institutions to improve the level of consumer and business awareness of the online services the finance sector offers, stimulate the growth of new online financial products and services, and address barriers to the evolution of services in this area......more

Transport

The transport sector is a strategic area of the economy as its activities underpin the activities of a wide range of other sectors of the economy. NOIE has embarked on work in the transport sector to scope out the use of e-commerce and try to remove some of the potential barriers to the further uptake of e-commerce in the sector......more

Education

NOIE has released the report eBusiness in Education in conjunction with the Department of Education, Training and Youth Affairs. The report focuses on the administrative support functions such as online procurement, financial management, personnel management, and student administration, where potential gains in operating efficiency are quite significant.......more
