Sam Douglas
At the risk of sounding over-enthusiastic, I'd say that the digital economy has the potential to enable the closest thing we have seen to a perfectly functioning market. We are already seeing the benefits to consumers via the ability to quickly find the best price on almost any given item, service or product. Over time Australian business will take advantage of the ability to reach more customers than ever before. The best way to safeguard this is for the Federal Government to provide high-speed infrastructure and an environment that is as agreeable as possible to private investment across all areas of the digital economy. I would add that the ISP level filtering plan works actively against both of these aims and ultimately puts digital future of Australia at risk.
