Senator - the general population DO NOT want their internet filtered. the general population does not want to live in china. Even the chinese with their great desire and lots of money can't get a filter right. Some people want their internet filtered - let them do it. I don't - why should *you* impose *your* views on appropriate content on me? Why will you slow down my internet? Why does no other civilised country do this? Because it doesn't work, it is an impediment to free speech, and it is patently ridiculous! Do you even know that this will not work? Anyone who wants kiddie porn or whatever else will get it anyway. So you'll be annoying the majority to deter the easily deterred. Well done on that.
