The Rock
The cynical side of me says that there is no hope Senator Conroy nor his aides will ever bother reading this blog. Judging by his absolute refusal to listen to experts in the field and the abuse of the "protecting the children" defence for the filter I doubt he would bother reading what Australian Voters have to say. As a parent of two young children who both use the internet I want to protect them from the slime that lurks in the shadows of the internet. However I know that the proposed Filter will do nothing to stop these sick people, who already are already using various methods to avoid detection. For them it is a simple task to bypass any filter. Even Senator Conroy MUST know this or he HAS to be removed as the Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy as his lack of understanding of the area he is responsible for will destroy one of the integral building blocks for our economy! The only other reason for his pig headed approach to introducing mandatory filtering is censorship expansion beyond the initial concept. He must be proud to know that Australia will join North Korea and China in stopping open access to knowledge for all its citizens.
