The ABC has a vital role in maintaining and envigourating Australian culture and identity. It also
has an important role in bringing culture to Australians in an accessible way at no cost to the
recipient. It should be fully funded by government through taxation, and run independently of
government as it is largely now. No advertising.
I think it should remain completely independent of sbs, we need diversity in our country and the
population is increasing sufficiently these days to support the two media outlets.
My concern about broadband, is that it is not cost free to the consumer, it is in fact beyond my
budget to have broadband, and rely on free to air tv and radio as my primary media sources.
I love the abc, and sbs, and anything they can do to get more public is a really good thing.
The free trade agreement is impacting on our economy, lets do what we can to keep our culture
strong. We need to be proud of our Australian identity.
