Children's Content.
I think the ABC's role in childrens' programming is extremely vital. As a mother I look to the ABC to provide child focussed, stimulating and age appropriate material that is absolutely not available any where else.
The quality of Playschool is superb. Other shows like Degrassi Jnr High were ground breaking in their accurate and sensitive portrayal of teen issues. I also applaud the ABC for the showing of Round the Twist and other local productions.
There are also the educational series shown mid morning which have taught me and my children how to be resiliant, improve self-talk and develop positive relationships.
Please don't under estimate the the role the ABC plays in the lives of so many Australians. Not all families have broadband but most of us can access a tv and rely on the ABC for our childrens' positive development.
