this submission is my teenager daughters' point of view -

we listen to TripleJ almost constantly. It's often on in at least 3 rooms of the house as Mum, 58 years old, + teenagers, 19 & 17, all enjoy listening to the Jays. TripleJ is a stimulating, intelligent, funny Oz-wide truly Youth network.

Rural outreach has been important to us - we moved from Sydney to Scone in the 1990s and the ABC was a friend when otherwise we were socially isolated. Radio was particularly important - we could hear 702 and radio national. That was before TripleJ and Classic FM had a big footprint.

We also think that the ABC is very important in the role of training and encouraging talent. Without the ABC the voices of The Chasers, John Doyle, Andrew Denton, + screeds of others, would be squashed or non-existent.

One more point, this time from an old lady friend, she doesn't like the webpage changing all the time. A different webpage entry point for older people would be a very good user-friendly idea for fossils.

thank you
